Verbs are the part of the sentence which states the action or state of being, for example, run, jump, sweeten etc. The voice of a verb tells whether the subject of the sentence performs or receives the action.
Types of Voice:
Active Verb: The subject performs the action expressed by the verb.
Usage: When there is direct relation between verb and subject.
 
Passive Verb: The subject receives the action expressed by the verb.
Usage: When the action is the main thing, and not the subject or when the doer of the action is unknown.
Example:
1. Active Voice: Sajid wrote an email.
    (Subject) + (verb) + (object).
    Passive Voice: An email was written by Sajid.
    (Object) + (verb) + (past participle) + (by subject).
 
2. Active Voice: Open the main gate.
    Passive Voice: Let the main gate be opened.
    Formation of Passive Voice = Let + Object + be + Past Participle
 
3. Active Voice: I remember my mother taking me to the park.
    Passive Voice: I remember being taken to the park by my mother.
