Verbs are the part of the sentence which states the action or state of being, for example, run, jump, sweeten etc. There are two kinds of verbs Regular verbs and Irregular verbs. Without verbs, we cannot have a proper sentence.
Example:
1. Bijay eats his dinner quickly.
2. We went to the mall.
3. You write neatly in your notebook.

While most of the verbs are regular verbs, the Irregular verbs are those that don’t take on the regular spelling patterns of past simple and past participle verbs.

Irregular verbs in a sentence:
1. I had to catch my breath. (present tense)
Karuna caught her breath. (past tense)
2. Do you want me to drive you to the office? (present tense)
The chauffeur drove them straight to the mountain. (past tense)

There are four types of verbs:
I. Action Verbs - They show actions.
Example:
1. Sing
Sentence: Rani will become a part of the chorus and sing a song for her friends.
(Here "sing" is showing action)
2. Dance
Sentence: Raja tried to dance and fell upon the floor.
3. Think
Sentence: Rahul has to seriously think about being in the army.

II. Transitive verb - Someone or something receives the action of the verb.
Example:
1. Like
Sentence: The kids like chocolates.
(Here "like " is a transitive verb)
2. Sold
Sentence: Have they sold their car yet?
3. Annoys
Sentence: That really annoys Ramesh.
Sentence: The kids like chocolates.

III. Intransitive verbs - There is nothing which receives the action, so there is no direct object after the verb.
Example:
1. Walk
Sentence: They walked.
(Here "walked" is the intransitive verb)
2. Laugh
Sentence: Suresh laughed.
3. Cough
Sentence: Grandfather was coughing.
Sentence: They walked.
(Here "walked" is the intransitive verb)

IV. Auxiliary Verbs - These are also known as helping verbs. They are used along with the main verbs
Example:
1. Would
Sentence:I would help you with English.
(Here "would" is the auxiliary verb)
2. Should
Sentence: You should eat more fruits.
3. Can
Sentence: Rajesh can speak six languages.
Sentence:I would help you with English.
