Book Free DemoHarish Chandra Singh Rawat: Harish Chandra Singh Rawat was born on \(3\) July \(1934\). He was a famous mountaineer who climbed Mount Everest in \(1965\). He was one of the nine summiters of the first successful Indian Everest Expeditions led by Captain M S Kohli. He was the seventh Indian man and twenty-second man in the world who climbed Mount Everest. He was awarded the Arjuna award and Padma Shri for his achievements. He died on \(20\) January \(2008\).
Phu Dorjee Sherpa: Phu Dorjee Sherpa was the first man from Nepal and the twenty-third person in the world to climb Mount Everest. The group consisted of twenty-one major expedition members and fifty Sherpas. On \(29\) May \(1965\), Phu Dorjee, H P S Ahluwalia and Harish Chandra Singh Rawat climbed Mount Everest. Phu Dorjee received the Padma Shri award for climbing Mount Everest in \(1965\). He died on \(18\) October \(1969\).
Edmund Hillary: Sir Edmund Percival Hillary was born on \(20\) July \(1919\). He was an explorer, New Zealand mountaineer, and philanthropist. Hillary became interested in mountaineering while he was studying in secondary school. He did his first major climb in \(1939\), reaching the summit of Mount Ollivier. He died on \(1\) January \(2008\).
