We use the future perfect:
1. When we say about an action which will be finished before a stated future time.
They will have finished their conference by 6 o'clock this evening.
2. With the following time expressions: by, by the time, before, until, by then, etc.
I will have cleaned my room by the time you get back.
There are different types of sentences.
Positive | Subject + will have + Ved/V3 |
Negative | Subject + will + not + have + Ved/V3 |
Questions | Will + subject + have + V3/Ved? |
Remember the spelling rules when you add the ending -ed or -d.
Consonant after a short, stressed vowel at the end of the word | Double the consonant. | stop – stopped swap – swapped |
In British English | Double one -l at the end of the word | travel - travelled |
One -e at the end of the word | Leave out the -e. Add -d. | love – loved save – saved |
Verbs ending in -y | Verbs ending in 'y' preceded by a vowel (a, e, i, o, u) Add -ed. | play - played |
Change 'y' to 'i' after a consonant. Then add -ed. | worry - worried |
