Read the text “Will we live in space?”
Рис. \(1\). Moon
In the late \(1950\)s our history changed — the first artificial satellite was launched into space. The Space Age began as the Soviet Union launched Sputnik \(1\).
The space has become more inhabited since then. Today, astronauts from around the world visit the International Space Station, which serves as a space environment research laboratory. It consists of \(16\) modules: four Russian, nine US, two Japanese, and one European. It’s the size of a five-bedroom house on the inside, with six regular crew serving for six months at a time.
If any of moonbase projects is successful, there will be a possibility of building a whole lunar city with everything people need — houses, hospitals and schools even.
However, people have always dreamt big — an idea of colonizing Mars has been around a while. If the Earth became unfit for living, people would move there to start over.
Choose true or false:
1. Today, astronauts from around the world visit the International Space Station.
2. Scientists think it's impossible to build a base on another planet.
3. If the Earth became unfit for living, people would move there to start over.
