11. Reading. It is great to be a teenager

 

 

Is it good to be a teenager? Well, I certainly enjoy it. It's the age when you get more freedom and responsibilities, and that's a way to become an adult. You get your first job and spend your first earned money. And, of course, it's the age when you can have fun hanging out with friends. You meet new people and start a romantic relationship. First love is a beautiful feeling. Sometimes young people suffer when they are not loved back, but it’s an experience too. It’s important to get over it and move on.

 

At this age teenagers start travelling and see the world. Usually parents provide us with money for the journey, but some teenagers have part-time jobs and can spend their own money. Travelling is great, it expands your view of the world. Some students from our school have visited England, Malta and other countries where they have taken courses of the English language.

 

Sure thing, there are a lot of things to worry about. Drugs, crimes, illnesses, terrorism are threats that worry everyone. But still these years are a very good time. They are a period for thinking and feeling, for trying to figure out what you want in life. However, I was surprised when I got the survey results from our school. A third of people think that being a teenager is cool. Another third thinks that it’s tiresome. One sixth thinks that it’s difficult and the rest of the people said that it’s okay. So, only \(30\) percent of my classmates consider teenage years exciting. That not very optimistic.

 

But they certainly have the point. Modern teenagers are under constant stress about their studies, relationships, family issues, problems at school. So it’s completely understandable if a person feels that way.
