Let $s$ denote the semi-perimeter of a triangle $ABC$ in which $BC = a$, $CA = b$, $AB = c$. If a circle touches the sides $BC$, $CA$, $AB$ at $D$, $E$, $F$, respectively, prove that $BD = s - b$.
