1. Introduction

Algebra is an important and ancient branch of mathematics that deals with solving algebraic equations subject to specific conditions. In the \(3^{rd}\) century, Diophantus wrote a book called "Arithmetica" in thirteen volumes, of which only six have survived. This book contains many solutions to real-life problems.

 

 

In the \(9^{th}\) century, Al-Khwarizmi, a Persian mathematician, wrote a book called "The Compendious book of calculation by completion and balancing", which provided the most appropriate methods of solving equations. From this book, the word "Algebra" has evolved as the misspelling of the word "al-jabr". Thus, he is considered the "Father of Algebra".
