Kishore and Akhil work at the same office. They start for the office from their homes at \(B\) and \(C\), respectively, to reach office \(A\). Two roads, \(D\) and \(E\), meets the roads \(AB\) and \(AC\), and \(DE\) is parallel to \(BC\). Their paths to the office form a triangular shape, as shown below.

 

 

1. If \(AE =\) 3 \(kms\), \(EC =\) 8 \(kms\) and \(DB =\) 18 \(kms\), then the length of \(AD\) is 8.757.755.756.75 \(kms\).

 

2. If \(AD =\) 4 \(kms\), \(AE =\) 24 \(kms\) and \(AC =\) 36 \(kms\), then the length of \(AB\) is 8756 \(kms\).

 

3. Is \(DE \parallel BC\) if \(AD = 6.75 \ kms\), \(AE =\) 3 \(kms\), \(EC =\) 8 \(kms\) and \(DB =\) 18 \(kms\)?
