1. Rekha buys a laptop for Rs.45000. She wants to sell it at a profit of Rs.1500. If the discount is Rs.700, find the M.P.

Given:

C.P. = Rs.45000

Profit = Rs.1500

Discount = Rs.700

\text{S.P.} = \text{Profit} + \text{C.P.}

= 1500 + 45000

= Rs.47000

\text{M.P.} = \text{S.P.} + \text{Discount}

= 47000 + 700

= Rs.47700

2. Abu has bought a travel bag for Rs.4000. He plans to sell it for Rs.5000. If the price is marked at Rs.5625, find the discount and profit or loss.

Given:

C.P. = Rs.4000

S.P. = Rs.5000

M.P. = Rs.5625

\text{Discount} = \text{M.P.} - \text{S.P.}

= 5625 - 5000

= Rs.625

In this case, S.P. > C.P.

Therefore there is a profit.

\text{Profit} = \text{S.P.} - \text{C.P.}

= 5000 - 4000

= Rs.1000
