Given:

S.P. \(= Rs.5000\)
M.P. \(= Rs.5625\)
\(\text{Discount}\) \(=\) \(\text{M.P.}\) \(-\) \(\text{S.P.}\)
\(= 5625 - 5000\)
\(= Rs.625\)
In this case, S.P. \(>\) C.P.
Therefore there is a profit.
\(\text{Profit}\) \(=\) \(\text{S.P.}\) \(-\) \(\text{C.P.}\)
\(= 5000 - 4000\)
\(= Rs.1000\)
