21. Four marks example problem I

1. Anitha's mother bought $5\frac{1}{2}$ litres of milk. She has used only $3\frac{1}{4}$ litres of milk to prepare payasam. Find the quantity of milk left over. So subtract $3\frac{1}{4}$ from $5\frac{1}{2}$.

 

The quantity of milk left over is $i\frac{i}{i}$ litres.

 

2. Simplify: $9 \frac{1}{4} - 3\frac{5}{6}$

 

The simplified term is $i\frac{i}{i}$.
