21. Four marks example problem I

1. Anitha's mother bought \(5\frac{1}{2}\) litres of milk. She has used only \(3\frac{1}{4}\) litres of milk to prepare payasam. Find the quantity of milk left over. So subtract \(3\frac{1}{4}\) from \(5\frac{1}{2}\).

 

The quantity of milk left over is $i\frac{i}{i}$ litres.

 

2. Simplify: \(9 \frac{1}{4} - 3\frac{5}{6}\)

 

The simplified term is $i\frac{i}{i}$.
