Before to get an answer for this question. Let's take a moment to look at our surroundings. Our world has billions of people, each of us living in certain countries and states. We can have numerous vehicles, and numerous students are studying in many colleges in many courses. We have many dresses and accessories, and so on.
Here we can see that these are all the informations. We can use this information to learn about certain things and also use it to develop the same. For example, if we collect the information on rural areas, we can find that there only fewer schools and hospitals are available. The government use this information and make a scheme to establish the required necessities on that area.
So this collection and complication of information are known as data.
Data is the complication or set of information about facts and figures.
Now we will see one example to understand this concept clearly.
Siva bought new dresses for the upcoming Diwali festival. He bought \(5\) new shirts, \(2\) new pants, and \(2\) new shoes. Then he saw his wardrobe he noticed how many dress he have completely.
Dress | Total count |
Shirts | \(12\) |
Pants | \(7\) |
Shorts | \(3\) |
Shoe | \(3\) |
The above information is called as data.
Now we understand the basic idea about the data; in upcoming lessons, we would cover the classification and further concepts about data.
