How long will an energy source last us?
We've already seen that we can't rely on fossil fuels for much longer. Exhaustible or non-renewable energy sources will be depleted at some point in the future. On the other hand, if we manage bio-mass by replacing the trees we cut down for firewood, we can guarantee a steady supply of energy at a set rate. Renewable energy sources are those that can be regenerated again and again.
Renewable energy can be found in our natural environment in the form of some continuous or repetitive currents of energy, or in such large underground reservoirs where the rate of reservoir depletion due to the extraction of usable energy is practically non-existent.

Burning of coal
To meet our energy needs, we try to increase the efficiency of our energy usage and explore new energy sources. We are also required to look for new energy sources because traditional sources of energy, such as fossil fuels, are rapidly depleting. The energy source we choose will be determined by factors such as the ease and cost of removing energy from the source, the efficiency of the technology available to use that source of energy, and the source's environmental impact.
