Water is needed for different life activities. The groundwater level will be depleted if we refrain from using water and conserving it. This may result in various consequences:

 

(i). ExpandingHigheringLoweringIncreasing the water table: Excessive pumping can lower the groundwater table.

 

(ii). ExpandedReducedIncreasedEnlarged surface water supply: Groundwater and surface water are connected. When groundwater is overused, the oceanslakesseasice, streams, and rivers connected to it can also have little supply.

 

(iii). Loss of soilsLoss of heatLoss of plantsLoss of water from land: Our existence is intricately linked to plants. They provide us with food, oxygen, and even regulate the climate. But if water becomes scarce, plants will be unable to prepare their food, leading to a catastrophicmesotrophicapocalypticcatoclysmic chain reaction. A world without plants means no food, no oxygen, not enough rain, and countless other problems.

 

Hence, it is true that water is a precious resource.
