The First Indian Woman Astronaut, Kalpana Chawla was born on \(17\ March,\ 1962\), in Karnal, Haryana. She pursued her Bachelor degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Chandigarh and obtained a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas. She pursued her PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado and began her career at NASA in \(1988\). She was the second Indian to fly in space. Unfortunately, on \(1 February,\ 2003\), she was one of the seven astronauts who lost their lives in Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.

Sunitha Williams:
  
Born on \(September\ 19,\ 1965\), in USA, Sunita Williams started her career as an astronaut in \(1998\). She completed two trips to the International Space Station. She also made a record of the longest space-walking time by a female astronaut in \(2012\), with a total of \(7\) space-walks in \(50\ hour\) \(40\ minute\). She is one of the crew members of NASA’s Manned Mars Mission.

Rakesh Sharma:
 
The first Indian to enter into the space was Rakesh Sharma. He was an Indian pilot who got selected as a ‘Cosmonaut’ in a space program between India and Russia. Cosmonauts are the people who get trained by the Russian space agency.
