1. What are canal rays?

 

Gas discharge contains new radiations known as canal rays. The rays had a negative chargepositive charge. Canal rays helped the discovery of another subatomic particle. The charge of this subatomic particle was the exact opposite of the charge of the protonelectron.

 

2. If an atom contains one electron and one proton, will it carry any charge or not?
