1. What difference do you think heating the solid will make in their molecules? 

 

When we heat the objects, the molecules within the object are moving at a faster rateslower rate. The object's temperature will increasedecrease due to the increasedecrease in the movement of the molecules. The object contractsexpands because the increasedecrease in the molecule's energy creates more vibrations and movementsreduces molecule's movements, usually closer togethercreating more distance between themselves.

 

2. Distinguish between heat and temperature.

 

  

 

Temperature is defined as the measurement of the hotness or coldness of a substanceflow of energy from the hotter to the cooler objectflow of energy from the cooler to the hotter object

 

  

Heat depends not only  on the temperature of the substance but also on the how fast the atoms or molecules move or vibrateamount of molecules that are there in the object.

  

Temperature is related to amount of moleculeshow fast the atoms or molecules move or vibrate  within the substance and also determines the direction of the heat flow.

 

  

Heat - The average kinetic energytotal kinetic energy of the molecules in the substance.
