Depending on the interaction of light with materials, the objects can be classified into three types.
- Opaque
- Transparent and
- Translucent
Opaque:
The materials which do not allow light to pass through them completely are known as opaque objects.
Example:
Brick wall, Metal door

Transparent:
The materials which allow the light to pass through them completely are known as transparent objects.
Example:
