Acalypha indica (Kuppaimeni):
- This plant belongs to the phylum angiosperms and family of Euphorbiaceae.
- Leaves of this plant can be ground into a paste and used to treat the burns on the skin.
- The juice derived from this plant's leaves is mixed with lemon juice and used to treat ringworm.
- It is also used to reduce phlegm and in the treatment of cough, asthma and other breathing problems.
- It is a herb that is used to eliminate intestinal parasites and worms and to treat constipation.
Kuppaimeni
Aegle marmelos (Vilvam):
- This plant belongs to the phylum angiosperms and family of Rutaceae.
- Aegle marmelos is anti-inflammatory in nature. Hence, its extracts are applied to the exposed area to reduce and cure inflammation.
- The unripe fruit of this tree is used to treat indigestion.
- Chronic diarrhoea and dysentery is cured with the help of this plant.
Vilvam
Solanum trilobatum (Thoodhuvalai):
- This plant belongs to the phylum angiosperms and the family of Solanaceae.
- Leaves and fruits of this plant are used to cure cold, cough and acute asthma.
- It is widely used to treat tuberculosis and bronchial asthma.
Thoodhuvalai
Phyllanthus amarus (Keezhanelli):
- This plant belongs to the phylum angiosperms and family Euphorbiaceae.
- The entire plant is used to treat various liver associated diseases and jaundice.
- It also gives additional strength to the human liver.
- It also has various multiple antiseptic, diuretic, antiviral, anti-diabetic properties.

Aloe vera (Sothu Katrazhai):
- This plant belongs to the phylum angiosperms and the family Liliaceae.
- Leaves of this plant are used to cure various ailments such as burns, allergic reactions, rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatic fever, and inflammations on the skin.
- It is also used to cure peptic ulcers, diabetes, piles, and the digestive system's inflammatory conditions.
