There are Five Great Epics in Tamil Literature. These five epics were written between \(1^s\)\(^t\) to \(10^t\)\(^h\) century CE. These epics provide historical information about the society, religions, culture and academic life of Tamil people during that period.
The Five Great Epics of Tamil Literature, also know as Aimperumkaapiyam (ஐம்பெரும்காப்பியங்கள்) in Tamil are:

2. Manimekalai (மணிமேகலை).
3. Seevaga Sinthamani (சீவக சிந்தாமணி).
