1. He was the soldier in the Wodeyar army who later went on to become the ruler of Mysore in 1761 with his valour and astute administrative skill. The traits with which he ruled irked the British as he had close ties with the French powers of the region. Another reason which angered the British were the control exerted by him over the Rich Malabar coasts which interrupted the BEIC’s commercial interests. He bought in a new strategy by which he suddenly began to attack Madras which was under the British and they were not ready for it.
