10. Analysis

The poem "Rain on the Roof" talks about how people are generally busy and running about, either chasing money or power. The poet emphasises the fact that once in a while, it is necessary to take a moment for oneself and find the beauty in the little things. One need not spend a lot of money to get relaxation. It is rather provided for free by nature's bounty. One has to know to make use of these resources. Taking a day off just to lay in bed and admire the patter of rain on the roof is as important as running about to work. The poem also talks about how it is important to cherish the love and bond when it exists. The poet is nostalgic about his mother, but she is no more. Nature can revive one's memories with its beauty.
