Explain the following:

a. \(NaCl\) is not a conductor of electricity in solid state whereas it does conduct electricity in aqueous solution as well as in molten state.

In the aqueous and molten states, water molecules are responsible to conduct electricity, but there are no water molecules in the solid state.
There are no free ions to move in the solid state, but ions are free to move in aqueous solution and molten states.
There is no free surface on the solid \(NaCl\).

b. Iron articles are galvanised.

c. Metals like \(Na\), \(K\), \(Ca\) and \(Mg\) are never found in their free state in nature.
