The green house effect the environment. When the sun's rays strike the earth, some radiation is absorbed, while some are into space. Some of the reflected radiation is trapped by the atmosphere. This trapped radiation further warms the earth. This is known as the effect. Carbon dioxide is one of the gases responsible for this effect.
