Some pollutants, such as sulphur monoxide sulphur dioxidesulphur trioxide  and nitric oxidesnitrogen trioxidenitrogen dioxide, react with water vapour in the atmosphere to form sulphuric acid and nitric acid. The acid dissolves in the rain, turning it neutralbasicacidic. This is known as acid rain.

 

Acid rain has a wide range of impacts on us.

 

(i). Acid rain corrodes the monument's marble.
(ii). Acid rain corrodes building and sculpture materials.
(iii). Fresh water is also harmed by acid rain.
(iv). Acid rain also harms and contaminates our crops.
(v). Plant leaves are harmed by acid rain.
