Explain the function of bar screens in a wastewater treatment plant.
A bar screen is a filter used in wastewater treatment plants to remove pollutants from water, such as large solid objects, napkins, plastics, cans, etc. Allowing the wastewater to pass through the bar screen removes large solid particles such as rags, napkins, sticks, cans, plastic bags, polyethene, etc.
It is usually the first or preliminary level of that is part of the primary filtration flow and is placed at the influent of a wastewater treatment plant.
