Two girls, each of weight \(400\ N\) climb up a rope through a height of \(8\ m\). We name one of the girls \(A\) and the other \(B\). Girl \(A\) takes \(20\ s\) while \(B\) takes \(50\ s\) to accomplish this task. What is the power expended by each girl?

The formula to calculate the Power (\(P\)) is,

\(Power\ (P)\ =\ {Work\ done} \times {Time}\)
\(Power\ (P)\ =\ \frac{Work\ done}{Time}\)

\(P\ =\ \frac{m \times g \times h}{t}\)
\(P\ =\ \frac{m}{g \times h \times t}\)
\(P\ =\ m \times g \times h \times t\)
\(P\ =\ \frac{m \times g}{h \times t}\)

Substitute the values,

Power expended by girl A \(=\) \(W\)

Power expended by girl B \(=\) \(W\)
