5. India’s First Sea Bridge

  

It is a railway bridge that connects the town of Rameshwaram on Pamban Island to mainland India. Pamban bridge opened in $1914$. It is India’s first sea bridge until the opening of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in $2010$. We can control the corrosion of the historical Pamban bridge by a periodical protective coating. It is a strong example of applied chemistry to uphold our history.
