5. India’s First Sea Bridge

  

It is a railway bridge that connects the town of Rameshwaram on Pamban Island to mainland India. Pamban bridge opened in \(1914\). It is India’s first sea bridge until the opening of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in \(2010\). We can control the corrosion of the historical Pamban bridge by a periodical protective coating. It is a strong example of applied chemistry to uphold our history.
